via Engadget // After months of testing, Alphabet’s Wing division is launching a drone delivery service in Australia. It will cover roughly 100 homes in the suburbs of Crace, Palmerston and Franklin, just outside the capital city of Canberra. Customers will be able to request small goods, such as medicine, coffee and groceries, from a range of local businesses including Kickstart Expresso, Capital Chemist, Pure Gelato, Jasper + Myrtle, Bakers Delight, Guzman Y Gomez, and Drummond Golf. Wing says it will slowly expand to more neighborhoods “in the coming weeks and months” and “connect with more local businesses” to expand the products that are available to order.

One of the best parts of my job is sharing what I’ve learned.This week, I had the opportunity to visit our Rogers, Arkansas VMLY&R office to speak at the inaugural “Commerce & Cocktails” event, discussing the latest commerce strategies and unique approaches that can impact our clients business as it relates to Walmart.This installment, titled “The Science of WoW, Winning on Walmart” gave me a chance to meet many incredibly talented commerce experts, and showcase how social media commerce, in tandem with a well-developed social ecosystem, can be incredibly powerful when connecting with consumers — ultimately driving action and leading to business results.A special thank you to the Rogers team for inviting me to share my experiences with this group.
